The revamped Eagles’ secondary caught a break. Not only did the Buffalo Bills trade away their oft-injured, but talented receiver Sammy Watkins on the same day they sent cornerback Ronald Darby to the Eagles, but Jordan Matthews suffered a cracked sternum during his first practice with the Bills, last Sunday.
Still, Buffalo brings a dangerous duo to town in quarterback Tyrod Taylor and former Eagle LeSean McCoy. Both players are capable of generating splash-plays should the defense allow itself to be lulled to sleep.
At the midway point of the preseason, jobs are on the line. Tonight’s game will go a long way toward determining the makeup of the Eagles’ final roster.
