Berglund Center holidays include Martina McBride, “Elf” musical, Jim Brickman, WWE | Cut ‘n’ Scratch

Music, a musical and good old rasslin’ are gifts to the world. During the coming holiday season, Berglund Center is bringing it all to the people.

Here they are, in chronological order:

“ELF The Musical” brings Buddy and his pals to for two theater shows on Nov.11. Tickets are $69.50, $49.50 and $37 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Sept. 15. I am curious if the star of this touring presentation can bring Will Ferrell’s manic energy to one of my favorite Christmas movies (that one and “Bad Santa” are my modern faves, and when are we going to get a “Bad Santa” musical? Not that this idea makes any sense).

Faces and heels at the holidaze! It’s the WWE Live Holiday Tour, set for Nov. 26 in Berglund Coliseum. United States Champion AJ Styles, WWE Champion Jinder Mahal, Kevin Owens, Shinsuke Nakamura, Women’s Champion Naomi, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and more are scheduled to be there, though the bill could change. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, at $102, $77, $57, $37, $27 and $17.

The Southwest Virginia Ballet’s presentation of “The Nutcracker” is set for two Dec. 9 shows and one Dec. 10 show. The annual production is set to feature a cast of 150 from more than 15 dance schools from the Roanoke Valley and beyond. Can’t go wrong with that Tchaikovsky fellow, by the way. Tickets are on sale now, and are $46, $43, $27 and $20 for adults, and $25, $20 and $15 for children.

Northern Ireland’s Keith & Kristyn Getty do “An Irish Christmas” in the theater on Dec. 19. The modern hymn writers’ tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Sept. 5, at $72, $67, $62, $42 and $32.

Pianist/songwriter Jim Brickman returns to the theater on Dec. 20, with A Joyful Christmas. Tickets for his 21st holiday tour are $79, $54, $44 and $34, and they go on sale at 10 a.m. Sept. 8.

Country music star Martina McBride’s Joy of Christmas Tour hits Berglund Performing Arts Theatre on Dec. 22. Tickets are $69, $59 and $49 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.
