The Buffalo Bills have been nothing short of abysmal in their first three preseason games of the year, losing each in embarrassing fashion. Following the team’s surprising trades of Sammy Watkins and Ronald Darby, the retirement of Anquan Boldin and the speculation that the Bills’ front office is ‘tanking,’ fans have begun to voice their displeasure with the team through various social media outlets.
After Buffalo’s 13-9 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday, defensive end Jerry Hughes has seemingly had enough of the ‘haters’ and posted a rather controversial tweet shortly after the game.
Hughes has played well in each of the Bills’ first three games following his return to defensive end, after being miscast as an outside linebacker in Rex Ryan’s hybrid 3-4 scheme, recording seven tackles and two sacks.
4 takeaways from Bills ugly preseason loss to Ravens
While it’s not tasteful to tell fans to ‘play in traffic blindfolded,’ Hughes’ frustration is justified given the fact that many fans are rooting for Buffalo to move their assets in hopes of a higher pick, coupled with the lackluster play of the team thus far.
Hopefully, there won’t be as many ‘haters’ after the Bills’ preseason finale against the Detroit Lions next Thursday at New Era Field.
