Cars towed out of Festival No. 6 muddy car park after downpour

Visitors to this year’s Festival No.6 have not managed to escape the rain with some vehicles being caught in the mud.

Last year, thousands of cars were stuck in axle-deep mud on land close to Porthmadog Football Club after torrential rain hit the music and arts festival held at nearby Portmeirion.

In an attempt to avoid similar scenes this year, organisers changed its location to Llwyn Mafon Uchaf, high in the hills above Criccieth, which aren’t said to be susceptible to flooding.

But while some have required help to become unstuck, festival goers have largely managed to avoid the chaotic scenes seen 12 months ago.

On Saturday and continuing into today, portions of the festival site have turned into a quagmire with fields are full of umbrellas and people dressed in waterproof poncho’s as the rain continued to fall over the weekend.

The new park and ride facility is around 15 minutes car journey away from Portmeirion village.
