POLICE were called to reports of a shooting on the Las Vegas strip just hours after the much hyped contest between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather.
Officers attended the scene beside the Cromwell Casino, located on the famous strip near to the fight area, at around 1.30am local time.
Partygoers at the Drai’s nightclub were evacuated after reports of a shoot out but these proved to be false, reported the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
A physical altercation did take place but Las Vegas’ metropolitan police department confirmed that no shots had been fire.
It is understood that the reports of gunfire could have resulted from people knocking over statues during the rush to flee the altercation.

At 2.20am Lt. Peter Kisfalvi said: “Officers cleared the building and now (are) just dealing with managing the crowd exiting the building.”
Posts on social media showed several police vehicles arriving at the scene which is just two blocks away from the T-Mobile arena where the fight took place.

Mayweather stopped McGregor in the tenth round with the scorecards showing that two judges thought he had won just one round up until that point.
He then came to the post-fight press conference swigging from his own brand of whiskey and claimed he would take over the market.
