Experts uncertain about the future of healthcare in America | News

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) – This shakeup at the White House comes on the heels of a tumultuous week for the Trump Administration.

President Trump launched a tirade of tweets Saturday just one day after the senate derailed the GOP’s seven year campaign to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.

Trump called for the senate to get rid of its 60 vote filibuster rules, which require 60 senators to agree in order to end debate and move forward to a vote on a piece of legislation.

Experts uncertain about the future of healthcare in America

Local political experts say the future of healthcare in the U.S. is uncertain.

“It’s kind of up in the air. They tried and tried and tried, they don’t seem to have a real plan as to where they want to go forward,” said Dr. Ed Moore. “What most people of substance would like to see is it go back to the committee level and actually work through some bills, go through the normal processes rather than just dumping a bill on the floor that nobody’s really had a good look at.”

A bipartisan discussion on health care may be an option if lawmakers want to get anything passed, moving forward.
