The Buffalo Bills let many players leave in free agency and traded many other players leading up to the 2017 season. Some former Bills made an immediate impact in Week 1 while some others had quite performances with their new teams. Here’s a look at how many former Bills fared in Week 1.
Sammy Watkins, Los Angeles Rams
Sammy Watkins recorded five receptions for 58 yards in his first game with the Los Angeles Rams. The wide receiver pulled in every target thrown his way by Jared Goff. The Rams didn’t need to pass much late in the second half as they defeated the Colts 46-9. Only Cooper Kupp finished with more receiving yards for the Rams in Week 1.
Stephon Gilmore, New England Patriots
There was one play where it looked as though Stephon Gilmore may have blown his coverage, but that wasn’t the case at all. Gilmore was actually quite impressive in his debut with the Patriots and finished with four tackles and one pass defensed. Pro Football Focus gave Gilmore an 83.5 overall grade against the Chiefs.

Mike Gillislee, New England Patriots
Mike Gillislee was a touchdown machine in Week 1 for the New England Patriots. He recorded three touchdowns in his debut, but not everything was positive for Gillislee. He only rushed for 45 yards on 15 carries (3.0 YPC) and was stopped twice on 4th and 1 runs.
