Los Angeles Rams vs. Indianapolis: The Rams have plenty of talent and get a huge upgrade in system, even if it means a transition from a 4-3 to a 3-4, with coordinator Wade Phillips arriving this offseason. Los Angeles gets a strike against it for playing without All-Pro lineman Aaron Donald, who ended his holdout Saturday but was previously ruled out for Week 1. This unit also gets in the “win” column with the news that Colts quarterback Andrew Luck (shoulder) will sit, and backup Scott Tolzien will start. Playing at home against a weakened Colts attack with a subpar offensive line is just the matchup the Rams need to start making good on its potential. Phillips will put them in position to make plays with Robert Quinn, Alec Ogletree, Trumaine Johnson and LaMarcus Joyner all among candidates to have big years under his guidance. Sacks, takeaways and touchdowns could all be on the table Week 1.
