Five taken to hospital after car crash at Bald Hills

Five people have been taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Brisbane’s north.

Two cars collided at the Gympie Road and Linkfield Road intersection at Bald Hills about 8.30 this morning, a Queensland Police spokesman said, with some people trapped inside the cars.

Five people were taken to hospital with injuries ranging from minor to moderate, a Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said.

It’s understood one person had serious head injuries.

The police spokesman said a turning lane was closed while emergency services were at the scene and the crash site was cleared by 10am.

All lanes had been reopened by noon.

Earlier, the Australian Traffic Network’s Olympia Kwitoswki said the eastbound lanes remained closed, and there were some residual heavy delays in the area.

The road was expected to reopen about 11.30am.
