Godrej Properties: Market Now: Nifty Realty hits 52-week high; Godrej Properties surges 6%

NEW DELHI: Extending gains for a second straight session, Nifty Realty index rose more than 2 per cent to hit a fresh 52-week high of 293.50 in Tuesday’s trade, with shares of Godrej Properties (up 5.56 per cent) jumping up to 6 per cent.

Delta Corp (up 2.45 per cent), DLF (up 2.28 per cent), Phoenix Mills (up 1.81 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate (up 1.62 per cent) and HDIL (up 1.46 per cent) were the other major gainers in the index.

The Nifty Realty index was trading 1.81 per cent up at 292 around 12.38 pm (IST), with Prestige Estates Projects (down 0.27 per cent) as the lone loser.

Other sectoral indices such as PSU bank and pharma also gained over 1 per cent on NSE.

Domestic equity markets remained in the positive zone ahead of August CPI inflation and July IIP data discloser, due later in the day.

Firm Asian cues amid diminishing geopolitical tensions kept domestic markets aloft.

On the BSE, mid-cap and small-cap indices hit fresh record high of 15,994 and 16,601, respectively, on Tuesday.

Nearly 95 stocks, including ACC, Ambuja Cements, Ashok Leyland and Tata Steel hit fresh 52-week highs today.

In the Nifty50 pack, 36 stocks were trading in the green, while 14 stocks were in red.

On BSE, 1,391 stocks were advancing whereas 1,028 stocks were lagging.
