JP Associates, Infosys most active stocks in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: Shares of Jaiprakash Associates (number of shares traded: 1.44 crore), Suzlon Energy (0.97 crore), Manappuram Finance (0.46 crore), Infosys (0.41 crore), Sintex Industries (0.35 crore), GMR Infrastructure (0.35 crore) and Jaypee Infratech (0.28 crore) were the most active stocks in terms of volume on NSE in Tuesday’s trade.

Domestic equity markets opened positive. Pharma, IT and metal stocks were seen catching buyers’ attention.

However, bank and auto stocks saw a fresh spell of selling, which cooled off markets a bit.

Bharti Infratel, Tech Mahindra, Indian Oil Corporation, Lupin, Axis Bank, BPCL, HCL Technologies, Gail, Wipro and Hindalco were gaining in the NIfty chart.

On the other hand, Bank of Baroda, State Bank of India, Hero MotoCorp, Power Grid, YES Bank, ACC and UltraTech Cement were losing in trade.

Benchmark Nifty50 index was 19 points up at 9,773, while the 30-share Sensex was 56 points up at 31,315 around 9.50 am (IST).

In the Nifty50 pack, 33 stocks were trading in green, while 17 stocks were in red.

On BSE, 817 stocks were advancing whereas 898 stocks were lagging.
