The Detroit Lions take on the Buffalo Bills on Thursday, Aug. 31 in the 2017 NFL preseason. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
It’s officially the last week of preseason and the Detroit Lions have had a decent showdown so far. They dominated their first two games, and showed improvements, teamwork and cohesiveness, all things they hope for against the Buffalo Bills.
Last week’s match against the New England Patriots was a different story. They were destroyed in the first quarter of the game, 24-0. They may not have had the victory against the Super Bowl champs, but they did save face finishing the game 28-27.
What should we look forward to seeing this week? A whole lot of second and third string players. After all, the Lions can’t risk injuring the highest paid NFL player before the season even starts. With many of the starters sitting this one out, there are a few backups to keep an eye on.
Rookie quarterback Brad Kaaya has had an impressive preseason. Thursday’s game will be the ultimate test, to see if he can beat out Jake Ruddick for second string. Although it’s unlikely, Kaaya has shown he’s a close competitor.

You should also keep your eyes on the Lions defense. This where the team needed most work last season. They’ve been up and down throughout the preseason, but did show extreme improvements. There are also several running back and tight ends fighting for a spot on the 53-man roster. This game should be a show stopper with players fighting for their job.
