The McHenry County Jewish Congregation continues a time of reflection and return with Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, beginning with Kol Nidre at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29.
Holidays at MCJC are unique and special. Our own members lead the services, making these co-creative and empowering experiences for all.
We welcome nonmembers and guests to share these days with us but ask that you RSVP in advance and consider making a donation to MCJC.
The Kol Nidre service will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29.
The Yom Kippur morning service will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, with the Yom Kippur Children’s Service at 10:15 a.m. The children’s service is a wonderfully engaging, musical and fun service, and geared to younger children ages 4 to 8.
The Yom Kippur Mincha service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, followed by the Yom Kippur Neila Service at 6 p.m.
Join the entire community for “Break-the-Fast” after Yom Kippur service at 7:15 p.m.

The “Pizza in the Hut” Religious School Sukkot Celebration will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4.
The Sukkot Yom Tov morning service with Lulav & Etrog will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5.
The Friday night Shabbat service and potluck dinner in the Sukkah will begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6.
The Shabbat morning Sukkot services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7. Study, prayer, celebration and community-building continue throughout the year with Shabbat potlucks and services, religious school, an active adult education program and online through the website at mcjconline.org.
