Primary and high schools in Mysuru district will be closed from September 21 to October 5 in view of Dasara festivities.
Though mid-term holidays for schools in the rest of the State are from October 11 to 25, they have been advanced in Mysuru district after Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep wrote to the Commissioner of Department of Public Instruction on it.
The holidays had been advanced in Mysuru district to coincide with Dasara festivities, which start from September 21 and end on September 30.
Schools in Mysuru district will reopen on October 6.
In a letter dated August 21, Mr. Randeep urged the Commissioner of Public Instruction to declare mid-term holidays from September 21 to October 5 this year to facilitate students and teachers to participate in the Dasara celebrations.
