An urgent appeal has gone out to find the owners of two cars blocking a fan zone from being set up ahead of the Tour of Britain Celebrations

The message, sent out on Facebook, claims to be from a woman on behalf of the organisers of the Winchcombe fan zone.

“Would the owners of these two cars, a BMW 4×4 PJ61 VCX and a silver Peugeot VN52 CWU please move them urgently as they are blocking the Fanzone.

“A big tv screeen is now in place and the area fenced off, ready for the Tour of Britain fun to begin.

The Facebook message urging for help over the parking

“Notices were put up asking drivers not to park on this area of Abbey Terrace overnight as preparation work began at 7am today.

“If you are, or know the owners of these two cars please can they be moved as a matter of urgency. Please share this locally. Many thanks.”

The fan zone is one of the main areas for people to gather to celebrate the seventh stage of the race as it passes through Gloucestershire.

Riders will be racing through Winchombe at around 2pm.
