Q My daughters want to experience the northern lights in December or January, but are unsure whether Norway or Iceland is best for this trip. Can you advise which month they should go and suggest some packages?

A Norway and Iceland are excellent choices for northern lights hunting, but it is impossible to say which is better. The lights are a naturally occurring phenomenon and their appearance is extremely difficult to predict more than a few hours in advance. There is no research to prove that any particular time of year offers a better chance of seeing them; all you can do is make sure you are in a location within the “auroral band” that is far away from any significant…
