Brexit is getting in the way of vital pension legislation, say industry insiders. The pensions dashboard, a scheme announced in the 2016 budget designed to be a one-stop shop for retirement savings, is due to launch in 2019.
However, pension providers working on the prototype say that the government is failing to heed calls for the scheme to be made compulsory because it is too focused on Brexit negotiations.
The dashboard should allow people to see their pensions, view a state pension forecast and find any lost pensions from previous employers. At present you have to gather this information from individual schemes. If you have had several jobs and pension pots throughout your life, this can be confusing and time-consuming to sort out.
