Reddy’s Laboratories: Market Now: Nifty Pharma turns volatile; Dr Reddy’s cracks over 4%

NEW DELHI: While all other sectoral indices were gaining in trade on NSE, Nifty Pharma appeared volatile as the index was trading 1.18 per cent down at 8,843 around 10.42 am (IST) in Friday’s trade.

Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories (down 4.13 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals (down 3.28 per cent), Cadila Healthcare (down 1.79 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical (down 1.45 per cent) were the top losers of the index.

However, Divi’s Laboratories (up 1.61 per cent), GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals (up 0.58 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma (up 0.58 per cent) and Piramal Enterprises (up 0.08 per cetn) were the gainers.

The benchmark BSE Sensex advanced almost 101 points in the early session today on buying by domestic institutional investors amid mixed Asian cues.

Major gainers that lifted the key indices included L&T, Tata Steel, Coal India, Cipla, HDFC Bank, ITC Ltd, Hind Unilever, HDFC Ltd, Hero MotoCorp, ONGC, Lupin, TCS and Reliance Industries.

Over 80 stocks, including Bajaj Finserv, Birla Corporation, Blue Star, Bombay Dyeing, Eicher Motors, Hindalco Industries, Indiabulls Housing Finance, JSW Steel, National Steel And Agro Industries, Tata Elxsi and Tata Steel hit fresh 52-week highs on NSE in Friday’s early trade.

In the Nifty50 pack, 30 stocks were trading in green, while 21 stocks were in red.

On BSE, 1,286 stocks were advancing whereas 846 stocks were lagging.
