Roadworks to hit Lincolnshire during summer holidays

Potholes are to be patched up and stretches of road resurfaced during work planned to take place this summer.

Repairs are to be made to Hawthorn Road, Cherry Willingham, between Croft Lane and the village from Friday, August 21 to Tuesday, August 25.

Hawthorn Road will be closed traffic diverted via Bunkers Hill, Wragby Road East and Kennel Lane.

Elsewhere, work to replace work out sections of Belton Lane, Grantham, between Hill Avenue and Harrowby Lane, will start on Monday, August 14.

The junctions of Hill Avenue and Harrowby Lane will also be included as part of the resurfacing works.

The total programme of works is expected to last for two weeks, subject to reasonable weather conditions.

Traffic lights will be removed over the weekend, and access to properties will be maintained throughout the works, however, access may be limited depending on where work is taking place.

Affected residents will be notified in advance so they can plan accordingly.

For the duration of the resurfacing works, a complete daytime road closure of Belton Lane, between Hill Avenue and Harrowby Lane, will be in place from 7.30am to 6pm each day.

Diversions will be via A607, B1174, A52, B6403 High Dyke and Londonthorpe Lane and vice versa.

Lorries can access Alma Park Industrial Estate via Harrowby Lane from the B6403 High Dyke.

In addition, there will be no access from Hill Avenue on to Belton Lane for the duration of the works, as well as no access from Harrowby Lane to Belton Lane when the Harrowby Lane junction is being resurfaced.

The diversion route will be altered accordingly during this portion of the project.

And resurfacing work, expected to last three weeks, is taking place on the A151 at Twenty, near Spalding and Bourne, from Monday, August 14.

A full 24-hour road closure of the A151 between Twenty and Guthram Gowt will be in place.

The signed diversion routes for the closure will be via the A151 to A15 to A16 and vice versa.
