Sensex: Market Now: Check out stocks that cracked over 5% today

NEW DELHI: Shares of Shekhawati Poly-yarn (down 16.67 per cent), Visagar Polytex (down 8 per cent), Lambodhara Text (down 7 per cent), Kavveri Telecom (down 6.79 per cent), PNB Gilts (down 6.05 per cent), Sathavahana Ispat (down 5.79 per cent), Sanco Industries (down 5.63 per cent) and Electrotherm (down 5 per cent) cracked over 5 per cent on NSE in Thursday’s trade.

Cautious sentiment engulfed domestic equity markets in the afternoon session amid mixed Asian cues.

Benchmarks Nifty and Sensex were trading almost flat at 9,939 and 31,696, respectively, around 1.50 pm (IST).

However, broader small-cap and mid-cap indices continued their bullish run after both hitting all-time high today.

The S&P BSE Midcap index was 107 points up at 15,817, while S&P BSE Smallcap index was 113 points up at 16,369 around the same time.

At the sectoral front, Nifty Realty index hit an all-time high of 292 today, with shares of HDIL, Oberoi Realty and Sobha gaining over 2 per cent.

Nifty Metal also gained over 1 per cent, with National Aluminium Company (NALCO) surging over 7 per cent.

Over 100 stocks hit fresh 52-week highs, while 7 stocks hit fresh 52-week lows today.
