Six people assessed by paramedics after cars collide in Southport

SIX people have been assessed by paramedics at the scene of a serious multi vehicle crash in Southport.

It’s understood two vehicles came to grief where Smith Street meets Kumbari Avenue just before 10.30am.

Paramedics assessed six people including a child at the scene before transporting three of them to hospital.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson told myGC two patients had sustained minor injuries, while the third’s injuries were considered to be “slightly more serious”.

The three patients were all transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in stable conditions.

The exact circumstances surrounding the accident are not yet known.

Police confirmed the intersection was closed to all traffic following the accident.

The wreckage, however, was cleared and traffic moving freely through the intersection again by 11.15am.
