“The Heart of the High Holidays” — Rabbi Shai Held in Dialogue with Rabbanit Devorah Zlochower

Conservative Synagogue Adath Israel of Riverdale (CSAIR), located at 475 West 250th St. at the Henry Hudson Parkway, is featuring Rabbi Shai Held in dialogue with Rabbanit Devorah Zlochower. They will speak to the community about “The Heart of the High Holidays.” 

Join us as we prepare for the Days of Awe and celebrate an important new publication. In small groups, with talented teachers from the Riverdale Jewish community, study High Holiday themed selections from Rabbi Shai Held’s newly published “The Heart of Torah: Essays on the Weekly Torah Portion.”

Then, join a conversation between Rabbi Held and Rabbanit Devorah Zlochower, Rebbe at Yeshivat Chovevei Torah, about The Heart of Torah, the Days of Awe, and what it means to read the Bible with an open mind and an open heart.

Rabbi Shai Held-is President, Dean, and Chair in Jewish Thought at Mechon Hadar, where he also directs the Center for Jewish Leadership and Ideas.

Books will be available for purchase at the end of the evening.
