Truck crashes into parked car in Lyttelton

A truck crashed into a parked car in Lyttelton on Saturday morning.

A person has died after their truck hit two parked cars in Lyttelton.

Emergency services are still attending the crash that happened on College Rd, Lyttelton, about 10.25am on Saturday morning.

The small truck crashed into two parked cars and the driver of the truck died at the scene, police said.

Their identity was not available at this time.

Fire and Emergency NZ spokesman Andrew Norris said two trucks from Lyttelton and a rescue tender, carrying the jaws of life, attended the crash.

No-one was trapped and the rescue tender was not required, he said.

Across the harbour, two women were lucky to be alive when a slip crushed part of their Church Bay house on Saturday morning.
