TWO Jags John Prescott rakes in £150,000 from five jobs and three pensions but moans about his £300 Lords day rate.
The former deputy PM, 79, blasted Piers Morgan on ITV’s Good Morning Britain when asked how much he picks up as a peer.
He said: “I get £300, £150 goes to my secretary and £150 goes to a hotel. Do you spend all your bloody expenses? No you don’t.
“I live in the North, I have to travel down to London. That’s half of it and I do have to live because I haven’t got the accommodation in London, right? Do you want to put that into your analysis?”
Lord Prescott earned a tax-free £42,000 in 12 months to April, Parliament records show.
But we can also reveal the New Labour supremo gets around £50,000 for a newspaper column and is a consultant to Hull University. Prezza, who has a £750,000 home in Hull, can earn £10,000 for a few hours as a guest speaker.
The Register of Lords’ Interests shows he earned a fee for appearing on shows on Channel 5 and More4.
It is also understood he has his MP and Ministerial pension, worth about £55,000, and is entitled to a £6,300 basic state pension.
Lord Prescott hung up the phone when contacted last night.
