Hello and welcome to Somerset Live’s breaking news feed for Friday, July 21.
Today is the start of the summer holidays for many state schools and that means tens of thousands of people will be heading through Somerset to start their summer break.
We’re expecting heavy traffic on the M5, A303 and the south coast routes so we’ll be keeping a close eye on them and bring you regular traffic updates.
There’s also a weather warning in place for today with high winds and rain predcicted to make travel difficult. So we’ll be watching that too.
We’ll be updating on news, weather, travel and more as it comes into our newsroom.
If it’s happening somewhere across the county, you’ll hear it here first.
If it’s happening in the wider world and we think you’ll be interested, this is where you will find it.
We will keep you up to date on all you need to know.
If you can update us on the the present situation, please get in touch – you can comment on this blog, tweet us, contact us on Facebook, or you can e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or ring us on 01935 709734.
