What Matt Ryan said about the Bills

Here’s what Matt Ryan, the NFL’s reigning MVP, had to say about the Bills:

On Buffalo’s secondary: “I think their defense has done a good job. The secondary has been stout. The defense in general hasn’t given up many points. They have played really well in the first three weeks.”

On their 4-3 scheme: “There are some similarities to what we saw against Carolina in the past obviously with their head coach having been the defensive coordinator in Carolina.”

On the Bills personnel: “The rookie (cornerback Tre’Davious White) has done a good job. He’s a good player. We know the three guys – Micah Hyde, E.J. Gaines and Jordan Poyer — I played against them when they were (with different teams.) They are all talented. The defense looks good, and they’ve done a really good job early on.”

On the traits of a Sean McDermott defense: “They are aggressive. Very aggressive front four. The linebackers are very good against the run. That’s something that we’ve seen from Carolina. They have some of the best in the league. I think that carryover in the same. In the secondary, there’s a lot of quarters-type of coverage, which they do a great job with. They have a ton of different pressures. They give you a lot of different looks. They put a lot of stress on your pass protections. It’s something that we’ll have to do a great job of. I think communication on our end, making sure that everybody is on the same page, is going to be really important this week.”

On Marcel Dareus maybe returning: “He’s a great player. Anytime you have great players that you’re going against it makes it more difficult. But we’ll see where everybody is at, at the end of the week.”
