A woman has died after being struck by a car on a highway in WA’s remote north.
Police said at a round 7:30pm on Friday evening a Holden Colorado was travelling east on the Great Northern Highway near Mount Hardman in the Kimberley.
About five hundred metres west of the Blina Station Access Road three cars were parked on the northern side of the road, where occupants were repairing a flat tyre to one of the vehicles.
Police understand that the driver of the Colorado veered to the centre of the road to avoid pedestrians but then collided with a woman that was walking on the road.
Police and Fitzroy Crossing Hospital staff arrived at the scene but the 39-year-old woman died as a result of her injuries.
