YES Bank, Divi’s Lab most active stocks in terms of value

NEW DELHI: Shares of Reliance Industries (Rs 424.68 crore), YES Bank (Rs 113.40 crore), Divis Lab (Rs 72.11 crore), Lupin (Rs 54.42 crore) and HDFC Bank (Rs 50.26 crore) were trading as most active stocks in terms of value on NSE in Monday’s early trade amid positive market sentiments.

Stocks such as, Asian Paints (Rs 49.14 crore), Wipro (Rs 48.31 crore), HPCL (Rs 48.01 crore), ITC (Rs 47.05 crore), Punjab National Bank (Rs 46.26 crore), State Bank of India (Rs 46.21 crore) and Tata Consultancy Services (Rs 39.33 crore) were also in the league.

Benchmark Nifty50 opened on a strong note and soon touched its all-time high at 9,942.80. Sensex too touched its all-time high at 32,140.02, following firm global cues.

The surge has occurred after the International Monetary Fund said India’s GDP growth may come in at 7.2 per cent in 2017, even as the fund believes global growth outlook is skewed to the downside in medium-term.

Nifty PSU Bank index was leading the rally. It was trading 1.45 per cent up around 10 am (IST) with Allahabad Bank (up 3.87 per cent) as the top gainer. Each component of the index was trading in green.

However, Nifty Pharma index reflected some negative sentiments. It was trading 0.57 per cent down with Divi’s Laboratories (down 4.44 per cent) as the top loser around the same time.

Benchmark Nifty50 index was 34 points up at 9,949, while the 30-share Sensex was 138 points up at 32,166.

In the Nifty50 pack, 28 stocks were trading in green, while 23 stocks were in red.

On BSE, 1,232 stocks were advancing whereas 721 stocks were lagging.
