HaysMac, a South East-based accountancy, tax and advisory firm, has expanded with the acquisition of corporate finance advisory practice Green Square. The target company brings more than 20 years of experience advising on transactions across an array of ownership structures, including founder-led and investor-backed businesses.
The company has built a strong reputation for its work in sectors including media, technology and market, and also has significant expertise across a range of cross jurisdiction transactions and commercial environments.
Joining HaysMac will provide Green Square’s clients with access to a single, joined-up advisory service, spanning early preparation and strategic planning, to transaction execution and post-deal outcomes.
Green Square partners Tony Walford and Barry Dudley commented: “Green Square has always been focused on helping founders and shareholders make confident decisions at pivotal moments in their lives.”
“Joining HaysMac allows us to build on that purpose, working as part of a larger advisory firm that shares our commitment to quality, relationships and long-term outcomes. Together, we can support more businesses across a wider range of situations, with the depth and breadth of expertise that clients increasingly value.”
Jon Dawson, partner and head of sectors and markets at HaysMac, said that the acquisition would broaden the advice that the firm can offer to businesses and investors.
He added that the deal “embeds dedicated transaction expertise within HaysMac and enhances how we support founders, leadership teams and stakeholders across a wider range of situations and growth stages.”
HaysMac Managing Partner Natasha Frangos said that the deal “achieves our strategic ambition to deepen our transaction advisory capabilities” and that the longstanding working relationship between the two firms had demonstrated the alignment between their culture and values.
Frangos continued: “Green Square has an outstanding reputation for supporting owners and shareholders through complex, high-value transactions, and their expertise perfectly complements our existing strength in advising growth focused and investor backed businesses.”
“Bringing Green Square into the firm builds on what we already do best – combining rigorous thinking with a genuinely people-centred approach.”
