Communications Minister Michelle Rowland has sought urgent advice over possible breaches of rules banning credit card deposits into online gambling accounts, less than 48 hours after the laws came into effect.

Ms Rowland sought the advice from the gambling regulator after questions from The Australian Financial Review about bookmaking giant Bet365 still allowing punters to deposit funds with online vouchers paid for with credit.
