Ten drivers in New York City have a need for speed and have racked up some eyewatering fines.
Transportation Alternatives identified 10 Big Apple drivers they deemed ‘super speeders’ – drivers with the most school zone speed camera violations.
The top super speeder – who drives an a black 2023 Audi A6 – received 563 tickets last year, with most being given in the Sheepshead Bay neighborhood in Brooklyn.
More than 70 of those tickets alone where given on Ocean Parkway at the same intersection a woman killed a mother and two daughters in a crosswalk last week by driving too fast.
The unidentified driver – whose license plate reads LCM8254 – has already wracked up 177 tickets in 2025.
And speeding through the streets of New York isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, as the driver has accumulated nearly $60,000 in fines, with $11,205.63 still not paid. The driver has already paid more than $45,000, according to Transportation Alternatives.
The second worst offender drives a Blue 2015 Mercedes-Benz C 300 and has wracked up 474 offenses, with 380 of them being on the Westside of Manhattan.
But perhaps their need for speed has hit the brakes as they have received zero violations in 2025, according to the outlet.

Despite their good driving record this year, they’re not very good at paying their bills, as they still owe the city a whopping $47,858.17 – having only paid in $3,500.
The most shocking on the list happens to be a naughty taxicab driver, who has garnered 160 school zone violations in 2024. Like Mr Westside, this yellow cabbie has gotten zero offenses in 2025.
And they seem to have taken another play from their fellow super speeder as they, too, haven’t gotten around to paying off their fines.
This Staten Island taxi driver still owes $18,324.04, having only paid $467.66, according to Transportation Alternatives.
Several super speeders are even naughtier, having ignored their fines altogether, leaving the city negative $107,500.
So who are these bad drivers?
A black 2023 Chevrolet Suburban with the license plate KZA2470, gray 2023 Toyota Camry with the license plate LFB3193, black 2022 Chrysler Pacifica with a license plate KZA3799, and a gray 2022 Kia Forte with the license plate KXH2766.

Only one irresponsible driver has paid their fines in full and that’s a Land Rover owner, who has paid every penny of his $44.260.30 punishment, the outlet found.
Transportation Alternatives found these 10 drivers typically commit their crimes in a concentrated area, meaning they got most of their fines in the same neighborhood as their others.
‘These results point to a small population with a shocking pattern of recidivism, resistance to traditional deterrents, and disregard for human life,’ Transportation Alternatives executive director Ben Furnas said.
Amber Adler, a member of Families for Safe Streets told Transportation Alternatives, added: ‘School zone speed cameras have been shown to change the behavior of the vast majority of drivers, but a small group of reckless New Yorkers still drive like they’re above the law.’
