Guyana’s Emmanuel Archibald delivered a standout performance at the South American Athletics Championships in Argentina on Sunday, leaping to 7.76 metres to capture the silver medal in the Men’s Long Jump.
Uruguay’s Emiliano Lasa claimed the gold with a winning jump of 7.97 metres, while Chile’s Jose Mandros narrowly missed out on silver, settling for bronze with a leap of 7.73 metres.
Archibald’s silver marks Guyana’s second medal at the championships, adding to Natricia Hooper’s bronze in the Women’s Triple Jump earlier in the competition.
