Money Street News

All seven members of BTS have finally completed their mandatory military service in the South Korean army and are now free to focus on music again. Over the past several years, each member of the boy band has stepped away from the spotlight at different times, allowing some to focus on solo musical careers while others served. As BTS prepares for a long-awaited musical reunion – which could happen at some point in 2025 – several of the group’s tracks have recently earned new certifications in the United States, adding to the band’s already impressive catalog of hits.

Seven BTS Songs Earn Their First RIAA Certifications

Seven BTS tracks have been certified by the RIAA for the first time. Five of them — “Black Swan,” “Permission to Dance,” “Spring Day,” “Save Me,” and “On” — have been named gold songs, which means they have moved 500,000 equivalent units in the U.S. through a combination of sales and streaming activity.

At the same time, both “Blood Sweat & Tears” and “Run” were simultaneously certified gold and platinum, meaning each has moved at least one million equivalent units in America.

BTS Upgrades Two Past Gold Hits

Two fan-favorite tracks, “DNA” and “Fake Love,” were originally certified gold back in 2018. Now, both have reached platinum status, as each has shifted a total of another half-million equivalent units throughout the past seven years.

BTS’s Growing List of Certified Hits

To date, 17 BTS songs have been certified by the RIAA at one level or another. Seven have been certified gold, while eight have reached the platinum tier. “Butter” stands out as a double platinum smash, while “Dynamite” is easily the group’s biggest success so far. That single has moved more than five million equivalent units in the U.S., making it a quintuple platinum behemoth.
