DIX, N.Y. (WETM) – A Burdett man has been arrested on theft charges after officials say he burglarized a home in the Town of Dix in March of 2023.

Jeffrey A. Arcangeli, 59, was arrested on the charges of burglary in the second degree and grand larceny in the second degree (both class C felonies), as stated in a release from the New York State Police.

Officials say Arcangeli was charged with the crimes following an investigation into an incident, which was reported to officials on March 22, 2023. At this time, officials say that State Police in Montour Falls were called to a home on Meads Hill Road for the report of a burglary.

Following an investigation into the incident, officials say it was revealed that a safe inside the home had been forcibly opened, and that multiple guns, as well as about $450,000 worth of gold, silver and money, were taken.

After further investigation, officials say Arcangeli was arrested on the charges, processed in court and released. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
