SILVER CREEK — A podcast with ties to Silver Creek recently earned international recognition.
Interesting Things with JC, an independent podcast and educational platform produced in western New York, has been honored with a 2025 Silver Vega Digital Award.
Interesting Things with JC was created by Producer, Editor and Host Jim Connors (JC), a lifelong learning advocate and award-winning media creator. Jim and Gayle Connors’ parents, Gary and Rose Mary Mitchell, are long time residents of Silver Creek.
“It’s an honor to receive the 2025 Silver Vega Digital Award for Season 1. As a self-funded educational podcast series with a new curriculum pilot aimed at serving the under-served, this recognition affirms that independent, purpose-driven storytelling still matters. As we near 1,300 episodes, with focus on micro learning in the digital age, I’m extremely grateful for everyone who’s listened, learned, and believed in what this can be,” Connors said.
Interesting Things with JC blends storytelling with free curriculum to support students, educators, and lifelong learners. It has reached over 1.76 million annual views and credits Gerard Edwards and Podcast Radio for their support. The series continues to grow with goals to expand its curriculum, reach more listeners worldwide, and inspire learning for all ages.
The Vega Digital Awards is an international platform dedicated to honoring digital excellence across various categories, including websites, apps, video, social campaigns, and beyond. This season – the 10th anniversary of the awards – witnessed an unprecedented response, with over 1,000 entries received from 26 countries worldwide. The submissions featured work produced on behalf of prominent global brands, setting new standards in digital storytelling.
