Bahrain-based alternative investment firm Investcorp has appointed Abbas Rizvi as its group chief financial officer (CFO).
He replaces Jan Erik Back who has announced his retirement after five years in the role.
It is a promotion for Rizvi who has been part of Investcorp’s finance team for 19 years.

Prior to that, Rizvi worked at E&Y in various roles including as an associate in the business risk services unit.
Investcorp executive chairman Mohammed Alhardi paid tribute to the retiring Black, praising his role in “accelerating the firm’s financial strategy and its position as a leading alternative asset manager”.
“We are delighted to appoint Abbas as Investcorp Group’s CFO,” added Alhardi. “His proven track record, extensive knowledge of the firm, and commitment to our values make him the ideal candidate to lead our financial strategy.”
