Originally hired as the head of alternative investments at $34bn Moneta Group, Andrew Kelsen has been asked to run the whole show; the St. Louis RIA has promoted him to CIO.
The move comes after Aoifinn Devitt, who had been in the role since 2021, stepped down in January to take the CIO job at institutional investor firm London CIV. Devitt has remained affiliated with Moneta as its chief global market strategist and investment committee chair.
Kelsen joined Moneta in the fall of 2021, just a few months after Devitt came aboard. He had spent the previous seven years at the Chicago Teachers’ Pension Fund, where he served as a portfolio manager of alternative investments and interim CIO.
