HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind.–A Statewide Silver Alert for a North Salem woman was canceled Monday morning.
That alert was issued for 41-year-old Julia Frederick last week. She lives with her parents and told both of them that she was going camping for a few days, which is not uncommon for her. Several police agencies tried to find her last week, but came up unsuccessful.
“At about 7 am Monday morning, though, Julia had contacted her family because she said she wasn’t aware that a Silver Alert was issued for her,” said Captain Jim Yetter with the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office.
Yetter says Julia’s family told her to contact the police.
“She did contact us at the Communications Center and we did locate her on a property west of Danville,” said Yetter. “Julia was taken to the hospital just to be checked out for precautionary purposes. She’s safe, uninjured, and the Silver Alert has been canceled.”
Police used an emergency ping to try and Frederick’s phone, but that was unsuccessful last week.
“Whether or not her phone was on or why she just now saw the Silver Alert, I do not know. I do not have that information,” said Yetter.
Yetter says he’s relieved that she’s safe.
“This is just a great outcome,” said Yetter.
