Finn Valley AC’s Sinead McConnell has picked up a silver medal as well as a new Irish record at the the European Masters Indoor Championships in Torun, Poland.
McConnell came home second in the W55 3,000m race walk, finishing in a time of 16:10.74, a season’s best that also goes down as a new Irish record in the W55 category.
Valerie Boban of France took the gold medal in a time of 15:53.76 while Germany’s Sigute Bronnecke picked up bronze crossing the line in 16:33.53.
McConnell is back in action again on Friday in the 5,000m race walk event.
