A number of historical silver items were stolen from a Kings Norton church. Thieves broke into Saint Nicolas’ Church by smashing their way through its stained glass windows on Tuesday, March 19, police said.

West Midlands Police shared images of 13 items which were stolen from Saint Nicolas’ Church. Items included chalices, a ceremonial mace and a vase.




Saint Nicolas’ is based in The Green and next to medieval buildings which appeared on BBC2’s Restoration TV show in 2004. The buildings were restored after winning the competition.

A force spokesperson said: “Do you recognise these items? On March 19, a number of historical silver items were stolen from a church in The Green, Kings Norton. It’s believed the offenders smashed a stained glass window before stealing the items.
