Fleet Mortgages has promoted business development managers (BDMs) Chris Barwick and Katy Williams to the newly created role of regional sales manager as it strengthens its intermediary sales structure.
The lender said the two promotions reflected Fleet Mortgages’ continued investment in broker support and sales leadership, while recognising the experience and contribution both have already made within the business.
Barwick and Williams, who will report to Steve Cox (pictured), chief commercial officer, will continue in their senior BDM positions while taking on additional responsibility for leading and developing other BDMs.
Williams will continue to oversee the Midlands, while Barwick remains responsible for the North East.
Leadership qualities
Barwick brings extensive experience in mortgage lending to the role, having previously worked as both an adviser and an underwriter with a lending mandate. He has also held several management roles during his career and has built a strong reputation for his technical mortgage knowledge.

Williams has worked in financial services since 2011, building experience across mortgages, commercial finance and bridging loans, both as a broker and within a packager. Since joining Fleet Mortgages in 2019, she has developed an in-depth knowledge of specialist buy-to-let (BTL) lending and was shortlisted as a finalist for BDM of the Year at the British Specialist Lending Awards.
She has also continued to build her professional credentials, completing her DipMAP last year and achieving the highest score to date in the Certified Practitioner in Specialist Property Finance examination.
Cox said: “Chris and Katy are both highly valued members of our sales team and these promotions recognise the contribution they have already made to the business, as well as the qualities they bring as leaders. Both have strong relationships with our intermediary partners, a deep understanding of the specialist buy-to-let market and the experience to help support and develop colleagues across the wider field team. These newly created roles will strengthen our sales structure further and ensure we continue to provide the high levels of service and support our broker partners expect from Fleet.”
Last month, Fleet Mortgages reintroduced 75% loan-to-value (LTV) fixed rate products across its BTL mortgage range.
