Times News NetworkLudhiana: Sadar police booked at least 10 persons, including a realtor and bank manager, for cheating and forgery. Police said that the accused furnished fake ownership documents of various properties and availed bank loans against these.Those booked have been identified as Gurjeet Khushal Rai of Shimlapuri, Sapna Dhingra of Guru Gobind Singh Nagar, Gursewak Singh of Neeraj Colony, Santosh of Mann Colony, Manpreet Singh alias Monu, Mahinder Singh Bhangu, Varinder Singh Suparia, Prabhjeet Singh Chawla, Manager Punjab and Sind Bank, Civil Lines, Ajay Kumar Dhingra and Mansa Ram of Kheri in Uttar Pradesh. One of the accused is yet to be identified.Sadar Police have lodged an FIR after receiving two such complaints. Inspector Harshveer Singh, SHO, Sadar police station said that the police received two complaints about a gang availing bank loans using fake ownership documents of various properties. He said that a few gang members would furnish ID proofs in the name of real property owners. Thereafter, the accused, impersonating as owners of the property, would get loans from the bank. The accused would never repay the loans. Gurjeet Khushal Rai, a realtor, is the kingpin of the gang. A case has been registered under sections 419 (cheating with personation), 420 (punishment for cheating), 465 (punishment for forgery), 467 (forgery of valuable, security or will etc), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document) and 120 B.
