If you’re in the market for credit cards in Canada that come with great perks, a new report could help you find the one that matches your spending needs.
Money.ca, a financial news and comparison site, released its list of the 13 best credit cards in Canada.
Its experts analyzed over 200 Canadian credit cards using 135 data points per card to determine the best in the country for 2025.
The comparison site also identifies the best credit cards by category, including the top rewards cards, cash back cards, balance transfer cards, and no-annual-fee cards.
“Each top pick is selected based on data-driven analysis, not influenced by partnerships or promotions,” Money.ca noted.
Best overall credit card
American Express Cobalt Card is one of the 13 best credit cards in Canada, winning the overall category with a five-star rating.
The site praises it for its robust rewards on dining, groceries and streaming. Amex Cobalt users can earn between three and five times the points on these categories, helping maximize rewards with one of the highest earning rates in Canada.
You can also get bonus points on gas, EV charging, and travel. You won’t need to pay a hefty annual fee; instead, you’ll pay a more manageable $12.99 monthly membership fee, making it more accessible for Canadians and easier to budget throughout the year.
Best cash back card
BMO CashBack World Elite made the list as the winner of the best cash back credit card.
Money.ca says it’s “an impressive combination of high earn rates, flexible redemption options and valuable perks.”
Holders of this credit card will get a big cash back welcome bonus of up to 10 per cent in their first three months, a $75 cash back bonus when you spend $25,000 in your first year, and the $120 annual fee will be waived in the first year.
Best rewards card
If you’re looking for credit cards in Canada with the best rewards program, look no further than the PC Mastercard.
“This card scores the highest in our proprietary Grocery Score, thanks to the impressive points earned at Loblaws banner stores, including No Frills, Real Canadian Superstore, and Shoppers Drug Mart,” reads the report.
With food prices expected to climb due to tariffs, this card could help you save big on groceries. It also helps that it doesn’t have an annual fee.
