The government is to undertake a review of the existing electric vehicle grant scheme to target them better at those who have no choice but to use their cars
Grants for electric vehicles (EVs) could be targeted at people in rural Ireland, under a planned review of the existing support scheme.
The proposal is contained in a new strategy launched this week by Eamon Ryan, the transport minister, on reducing private car use and improving the efficiency of transport.
The strategy recommends a review of “existing incentives for encouraging uptake of EVs”, with a focus on “targeted supports for captive car usages”.
