Chennai: Flying Squad Team (FST) seized a dummy EVM and sample banner of the candidates contesting in the Chennai Central constituency from DMK workers at Chetpet on Friday.As per the ECI, political party agents, are allowed to sit 100 meters away from the polling booth and assist the voters. These agents must not expose or display specific party symbols to canvass people approaching them. However, DMK agents outside a polling station at Venkatachalapathy Street displayed a banner with Central Chennai constituency candidate Dayanidhi Maran and kept a dummy EVM at their booth.After BJP Central Chennai candidate Vinoj P Selvam posted a video clip exposing this on his social media, officials rushed to the spot and seized the banner and dummy EVM from the DMK workers. A case has been registered.
