Ludhiana: The first round of randomisation of electronic voting machines (EVMs) was held in the presence of political representatives at the District Administrative Complex. The randomisation was conducted in the presence of district election officer Sakshi Sawhney, additional district election officer Major Amit Sareen and others at Bachat Bhawan. District election officer Sakshi Sawhney said that 2,921 polling booths would be set up in assembly constituencies of the district. Meanwhile, the district administration conducted a special training workshop for the monitoring teams to ensure strict vigilance of poll expenditure and model code of conduct adherence on Monday. Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC-Rural Development) Anmol Singh Dhaliwal said that Election Commission had set an expenditure limit of Rs 95 lakh for every candidate. Members of accounting teams, assembly level assistant expenditure observers etc attended the workshop.tnn
