A screenshot from a video alleging that electronic voting machines (EVMs) are hackable has gone viral, causing confusion among users. The claim was made by a YouTube channel called “Online News India.” The fact-checking wing of the Election Commission Of India (ECI) debunked the claim on its Twitter account saying, ”A person in a video posted on a YT Channel is claiming that EVM can be hacked. It is a false claim.”

In the midst of widespread misinformation on social media, a screenshot from a video alleging that electronic voting machines (EVMs) are hackable has gone viral, causing confusion among users. The claim was made by a YouTube channel called “Online News India.”

However, it should be noted that the claim is fake. The fact-checking wing of the Election Commission Of India (ECI) debunked the claim on its Twitter account saying, ”A person in a video posted on a YT Channel is claiming that EVM can be hacked. It is a false claim.”

In its post, the ECI also said, “Claim is blatantly wrong & EVM shown is not ECI EVMs. EVM in video is Fake. ECI EVM cannot be hacked or manipulated.”
