Police are investigating an alleged assault on a city street. And residents say they spotted around six police cars on Northwood’s Keelings Road this morning.

Now Staffordshire Police has confirmed an investigation is underway after a man was found ‘with an injury to his foot’. Officers were called to the scene at 11am today with families saying they saw ‘police cars everywhere’ with a number of patrol cars around the Co-op area of the stretch.

A spokesman for the force said: “We were called to Keelings Road at 11am following reports of an assault. A man was found with an injury to his foot at the scene that was not thought to be serious.

“Officers carried out a search of the area, which was negative.”

Witnesses are asked to contact the force on 101 and quote incident 236 of July 19.
