Africa’s development finance landscape is entering a period of structural transition, shaped by tightening concessional resources, elevated borrowing costs, geopolitical fragmentation, and growing investment needs. In this context, the African Development Bank Group is advancing a reform agenda focused on leveraging concessional resources, strengthening financial systems, and mobilising private sector investment.
On the sidelines of its 2026 Annual Meetings, the African Development Bank Group and the African Center for Economic Transformation will convene a moderated panel discussion on Africa’s evolving development finance architecture. The session will bring together senior leaders from development finance, regional financial institutions, the private sector, and development advocacy organizations.
The discussion will examine the implementation of the New African Financial Architecture for Development, adopted through the Abidjan Consensus in April 2026, and how African institutions, regional financial actors, private sector leaders, and development partners can strengthen coordination, reduce risk, and mobilise investment at scale.
Panellists will include Thierno-Habib Hann, Managing Director of Shelter Afrique Development Bank; Christian Kajeneri, Chief Executive Officer of MTN MoMo Congo; Mini Kouame, Managing Partner, Transat Management Company; and Serah Makka, Africa Executive Director, ONE Campaign.
The event will be moderated by Mavis Owusu-Gyamfi, President and CEO of the African Center for Economic Transformation.
Interpretation will be provided in English and French.
