President William Ruto has reappointed Ann Wambui Njuguna as the non-executive chairperson of the Uwezo Fund Oversight Board for a further three-year term.
According to Gazette Notice No. 7400 issued under the Public Finance Management Act (Cap. 412A2) and the Public Finance Management (Uwezo Fund) Regulations, 2014, the reappointment takes effect from May 26, 2026.
In the notice dated May 22, 2026, President Ruto exercised powers under paragraph 5(2)(a) of the regulations to extend the tenure of Ann Wambui Njuguna.
“IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by paragraph 5 (2) (a) of the Public Finance Management (Uwezo Fund) Regulations, 2014, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, reappoint Ann Wambui Njuguna as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Uwezo Fund Oversight Board, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 26th May, 2026,” Gazette Notice read.
Other key appointments
The Head of State also re-appointed Patrick Maina Muriuki as a Commissioner of the Advocates’ Complaints Commission for a further three years. This means that Wambui and Muriuki will serve in their positions for another three years before a fresh appointment can be made.
“I William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, re-appoints Patrick Maina Muriuki as a Commissioner of the Advocates Complaints Commission, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 22nd May, 2026,” Gazette notice read.
In the same notice, Treasury CS John Mbadi re-appointed Simon Mbugua as Chairperson and Diberious Shikuku Wafula as a member of the Policyholders Compensation Fund Board for a three-year term.
Karuti Kanyinga was also re-appointed as Chairperson of the Universities Fund Board of Trustees, and Naftali Omolo Ongati as Chairperson of the Maseno University Council.
Ogamba also appointed new members to several university councils and boards, including Conrad Keya, Fakira Kassim Sheik, Esther Sagini, Isaiah Kirukmet, and Jackline Akinyi Jacoyange to the University Fund Board of Trustees.
Peter Kiuluku was appointed Chairperson of the Makueni University College with several new council members, while Waswa Dick was appointed to the Machakos University Council.
